TELETRAC NAVMAN ASKS DRIVERS FOR TIPS DURING ROAD SAFETY WEEK
Drivers have a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card as part of #TipsFromSafeDrivers

May 3, 2018 – Australia’s Road Safety is this week (running from 30^th April  to 6^th May) and Teletrac Navman, a leading software-as-a-service provider specialising in GPS fleet tracking and leading edge fleet management solutions for the transport sector, wants to get the word out about the importance of heavy vehicle safety with a new initiative. #TipsFromSafeDrivers invites truck drivers to share their best tips and tricks on how other road users can safely share the road with them. Throughout May, their insights and advice will be showcased on the Teletrac Navman contest website. At the end of the month, the driver with the best tip will receive a $100 Visa prepaid gift card. . 

Everyone on the road wants to get home safely. This is especially true for heavy vehicle operators, who are unfortunately often involved in road accidents; many of these involving and potentially caused by their smaller counterparts. Whether it’s sitting in blind spots or rapid changing speeds on the highway, many drivers don’t realise these habits put a lot of stress on truck drivers who can’t easily brake or swerve out of harm’s way. Despite best efforts, the industry saw an increase in deaths by 86 per cent in 2017.  With 17 more fatalities on NSW roads in March alone, it’s important to address the on-going issue that is road safety and sharing the road with a heavy-vehicle.
