Teletrac Navman offers a new application through the National Telematics Framework

SYDNEY, Australia, - Teletrac Navman, Australia’s leading fleet management and transport solutions provider, today announced they are now offering the new Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) through the National Telematics Framework.

TMA is being used across the country to manage heavy vehicle access arrangements across the road network. It is a new telematics application from a business case approved by Australia’s transport and infrastructure Ministers in November 2018, which uses digital in-vehicle technology to optimise the operation of trucks driving across the country and the roads that they can access. The aim of the measures is to increase productivity, while ensuring safety for road users and safeguarding of road infrastructure.

Teletrac Navman is amongst the first to offer TMA, placing it at the forefront of new regulatory programs currently being rolled out across the country which use telematics.

TMA introduces another certified offering by Teletrac Navman, building on the success of the Intelligent Access Program (IAP).

“As the largest certified service provider in the country, we’re thrilled to be offering the new Telematics Monitoring Application,” says Anthony Laras, Regulatory Program & Sales Enablement Manager at Teletrac Navman.

Laras continues, “We believe in the National Telematics Framework and have continued to make investments in it so that we can respond to the needs of government and industry.”

“Importantly, our customers can now benefit from the availability of TMA and take advantage of new policies and programs as soon as they become available.”

“We look forward to partnering with both government and industry to ensure the sector can meet rising deadlines in these unprecedent times.”

General Manager, Strategy and Delivery at Transport Certification Australia (TCA), Gavin Hill, says that the Telematics Monitoring Application provides a flexible, cost effective approach to telematics.

“With the introduction of new applications through the National Telematics Framework, we’re responding to the changing needs of stakeholders who demand greater choice in the use of telematics for different purposes.”

“Like the apps on your smartphone, different applications do different jobs through the National Telematics Framework.”

Providers like Teletrac Navman are an essential in delivering applications to the transport sector.

TCA believes that the new TMA will offer new opportunities for transport operators who may not have previously considered opting-in to regulatory telematics applications.

“We look forward to continuing to support the trucking industry and its operators,” Mr Laras adds. “Tens of thousands of trucks across Australia are already using our telematics solutions, which means they can quickly take advantage of the commercial benefits of TMA in NSW. We are poised to immediately support operators in whichever scheme they chose to operate within.”

Transport operators are welcome to contact Teletrac Navman to discuss options for their fleets.  “We want to provide expert advice and flexibility to operators as they decide on which option best suits their business.”
